Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect during my first massage appointment?

During your first massage appointment, you will be asked to fill out a health history form to help us understand any health conditions or injuries that may affect your treatment. We will then discuss your goals and preferences for the massage, such as the amount of pressure you prefer and any areas you would like us to focus on.

You will then be asked to undress to your level of comfort (most clients choose to keep their underwear on) and lie down on a massage table under a sheet or blanket. We will leave the room while you undress and get comfortable.

During the massage, we will use a variety of techniques to work on your muscles, including long strokes, kneading, and stretching. We will check with you regularly to ensure you are comfortable and adjust our pressure or technique as needed.

After the massage, we will leave the room so you can get dressed. We may offer suggestions for stretches or self-care to help prolong the benefits of the massage.

How often should I get a massage?

The frequency of massages will depend on your individual needs and goals. Some clients find that getting a massage once a month is sufficient to help them maintain their overall wellness and manage stress levels. Others may need more frequent massages if they have a specific injury or chronic pain condition that requires ongoing treatment.

During your initial consultation, we can help you determine how often you may need to come in for a massage based on your specific needs and goals. We may also recommend a maintenance plan that includes regular massages in order to help you achieve your desired outcomes.

Ultimately, how often you get a massage will depend on your own preferences and budget. Many clients find that regular massage sessions are a valuable investment in their health and well-being.

What is your cancellation policy?

I understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances may arise that require you to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule your massage appointment, we kindly ask that you give us at least 24 hours' notice to avoid being charged a cancellation fee.

The cancellation policy allows us to better serve all of our clients by giving us time to fill any open appointment slots that may become available due to cancellations or changes.

What kind of oils and lotions do you use during massages?

We use massage oils and lotions that are designed to provide the ideal glide and slip necessary for effective massage therapy. The massage oils and lotions are free from harsh chemicals, fragrances, and dyes, making them safe for even the most sensitive skin types. Scented oils are an option as well. In addition, essential oils can be added to an oil, or lotion.

We offer a variety of massage oils and lotions to choose from, each with its own unique properties and benefits. Some of the most popular massage oils and lotions include:

  • Jojoba oil: This light, non-greasy oil is rich in vitamin E and is easily absorbed by the skin. It is great for all skin types and can help to soothe dry or irritated skin.

  • Sore Muscle oil: This oil is a wonderful blend of essential oils, crafted to sooth sore and tired muscles. Designed with easy absorption and melts away tension. Perfect for a relaxing massage, while leaving skin feeling nourished and hydrated.

During your massage session, we will work with you to select the oil or lotion that best meets your needs and preferences. If you have any allergies or sensitivities to certain ingredients, please let us know so we can ensure that your massage is safe and comfortable.
